Liverpool Health Partners are heading back to the continent’s number one healthcare innovation event next week, and this year we’re bringing Team Liverpool with us.
Research and innovation colleagues across Liverpool Health Partners (LHP) member organisations and the wider Liverpool health and life sciences ecosystem will be taking to the skies on Monday as they head out to HLTH Europe – a platform for industry leaders and innovators to showcase their cutting-edge solutions and to collaborate on shaping the future of healthcare.
The four-day event, which takes place at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre in the Netherlands from 15th-18th June, will provide an opportunity for global expertise to meet local insight to address Europe’s unique healthcare challenges and opportunities.

This year marks the first time Liverpool City Region will have a coordinated Liverpool stand at HLTH Europe, bringing together representation from across our wider health and life sciences ecosystem. Team Liverpool, which spans NHS organisations, universities, research infrastructure, innovation partners, civic leadership, industry and communities, will come together at the event to showcase Liverpool’s ambition to create a connected system where innovation can move more rapidly from patient need to insight, from insight to deployment and from deployment to measurable population impact.
Christine Cornforth, Managing Director at LHP, said:
“Liverpool and the North are building a new model for health innovation, connecting research, NHS delivery, AI, data, industry and communities at population scale. Within this wider Northern ecosystem, Liverpool City Region offers a distinctive proposition centred on civic and translational health innovation, bringing together globally recognised strengths in drug discovery and personalised medicine, infection and antimicrobial resistance, women’s health, neuroscience and mental health, population health and data science, alongside world leading expertise in children’s health and clinical research.
“Attending HLTH Europe as a Team Liverpool provides an opportunity to strengthen international partnerships, showcase the breadth of capability across our region and demonstrate how research, innovation and healthcare delivery can work together to improve health outcomes and drive economic growth.”
Delegates attending as part of Team Liverpool represent organisations from across the Liverpool City Region health and life sciences ecosystem, including representatives from University Hospitals of Liverpool Group, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, University of Liverpool, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Health Innovation Network North West Coast.

As well as connecting with industry leaders across Europe, Louise Kenny, Chief Executive Officer at LHP, will also be taking to the stage as part of the conference to deliver a talk on Liverpool’s ambition to develop a distinctive proposition model centred on civic and translational health innovation.
Team Liverpool are also partnering with the Northern Health Science Alliance (NHSA) for the event, giving access to further networking opportunities and adding to a strong Northern UK presence to showcase what research and innovation is on offer.
Dr Ben Martyn, Executive Lead for Investment and International Partnerships at the Northern Health Science Alliance, said:
“HLTH Europe provides an international platform to demonstrate the North of England’s global excellence in health and life science innovation, build valuable networks, and further develop as leaders in the field. We’re delighted to be bringing together a delegation with Liverpool Health Partners that relfects the city’s breadth and depth of talent. This provides a real opportunity to showcase Liverpool’s globally competitive offer.
“It’s encouraging to see strong northern representation at this year’s conference and we’re excited to spotlight the wider NHSA membership offer in partnership with Yorkshire and North East combined authorities.
“Our partner programme event at HLTH on Monday afternoon will focus on the health research and innovation strengths within our regions, bringing insights from Liverpool representatives, alongside leaders from across the North.”
