Professor takes up Liverpool Health Partners role

A leading academic has been appointed to a top role at Liverpool Health Partners – boosting the high calibre of knowledge and expertise in the partnership team.

The LHP Board has appointed Louise Kenny – the Executive Pro Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool – as Vice Chair.

Neil Goodwin, Chair of LHP, said: “Louise is a brilliant addition to the Board, with her passion to achieve real change and address health inequalities regionally and nationally through in-depth research and understanding.

“In an exciting time for LHP, with significant growth and projects ahead, we look forward to working with Louise and harnessing the best of the region to deliver positive impacts to the local and national health economy.”

Professor Kenny, who has an award-winning background in research, with a particular interest in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed Vice Chair. I grew up in Liverpool, and I’m thrilled to have returned to the University where I trained as a doctor.

“Liverpool Health Partners is a vital engine for uniting all partners in a One Liverpool approach to fostering scientific research excellence with relevance and impact to the health and wellbeing of all our citizens. This matters enormously, given the enduring health inequalities and poor health outcomes in the Liverpool City Region.

“I look forward to working with Neil Goodwin and the other Board members in delivering a healthier future for Liverpool.”
