We’re looking for the next Chair of Liverpool Health Partners

We are the Academic Health Science System for Cheshire and Merseyside, focused on creating a
leading national and global network, where world-class research, teaching and clinical practice are
brought together to improve patient care for the local communities we serve, people across the UK,
and beyond.

We provide a formal framework for the strategic partnership between the NHS and Higher Education
sector – helping individual organisations to achieve what they cannot do alone. By working
collaboratively, we are creating a greater opportunity to deliver more high-quality research through
the development of an agreed research agenda, extended collaborations, greater capacity, and
access to shared resources. Combined with a clear focus on implementation into clinical practice, we
ensure that patients and the public get the benefit as soon as possible.

There is massive potential in Liverpool and beyond. Our Covid-19 response is just one example of
what we can achieve when our system works together with the smart use of existing infrastructures.
Our ambition is to build on what is ‘good’ to become ‘great’, ensuring we make a genuine difference
to our citizens by bringing the outputs of academic excellence to the frontline.

Our Chair will need to be an ambassador for LHP, collaborating and engaging with diverse
stakeholders about our future, articulating the vision of how we fit into the wider system and firmly
establishing us in the Liverpool City Region with the ambition to grow and have bigger influence
across Cheshire and Merseyside. Working across health and social care, the Chair will develop our
connections with secondary and tertiary care, looking towards primary care and the voluntary sector
in the future.

Our Chair will recognise our considerable potential, be a real advocate for what we have to offer and
represent the Partnership effectively on a national stage. A visible and high-profile collaborator, you
will be capable of engaging senior people across all partners, bringing out their strengths and making
the most of all opportunities in the system. You will build harmony and further embed a ‘one team’
approach to the Partnership by adopting an inclusive approach that ensures equal engagement
between LHP partners. You will be able to cope with and thrive on difference and have the
confidence to make difficult decisions, acting without fear or favour, to keep us moving forward.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Please contact our recruitment partners,
