Alder Hey bags two prestigious awards
Congratulations to Alder Hey for winning two awards at the prestigious 2020 HSJ Awards.
Held virtually and hosted by comedian Lenny Henry and BBC presenter Victoria Derbyshire, The HSJ Awards are not just a celebration of success stories, but also a platform to shape the future of the NHS.
The HSJ Awards continue to be the most esteemed accolade of healthcare service excellence in the UK and Alder Hey was honoured to receive two awards.
Alder Hey won the following awards at this year’s ceremony:
Digitising Patient Services Initiative Award
Alder Hey was shortlisted for this award due to its commitment to be a Global Digital Exemplar in the healthcare space.
Since 2017, Alder Hey has been part of an elite group of NHS hospital trusts to drive new ways of using digital technology in the NHS. It is the only specialist children’s NHS Trust to be selected to be a digital exemplar.
Alder Hey has also reached HIMSS 6 Accreditation, the second-highest accreditation of its kind and a symbol of Alder Hey’s commitment to digital excellence.
Staff Engagement Award
Alder Hey was shortlisted for the Staff Engagement Award thanks to the ‘Flourishing in Adversity: a showcase of staff engagement at individual, departmental, divisional, and Trust level in and around times of crisis’ campaign.
The ambition for staff engagement at Alder Hey was to implement organic ideas for all staff to thrive and heal.
A spokesman for Alder Hey said: “A massive well done to all of our colleagues who made this possible with their unbelievable hard work at the most difficult of times. You have all made the Alder Hey Family incredibly proud.”
