Get support setting up a contract


The JRO provides legal advice and support to our partner organisations for setting up contracts and legal agreements with external investigators, industry and for collaboration across academic and NHS partners. The team is led by an experienced legally trained manager, providing substantial legal expertise to the JRO.


Timelines for turnaround of contracts or agreements will depend on the actual complexity. In order to provide a timeline to meet expectations please provide a synopsis of the project together with relevant study documents to Contracts@lhpjro.nhs.uk.

Your request for contract support will be acknowledged and you will be provided with a timeline for first review and advice. By way of example the following are suggested timelines but are subject to study specific nuances and the Contracts Officer having access to relevant documentation/information.

  • Receipt of request for contract support – reviewed within 48 working hours.
  • Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure Agreements – reviewed/drafted within 48 working hours.
  • Review of amended model clinical trial agreements, organisational information documents, material transfer, data sharing agreements – reviewed within 10 working days.
  • Drafting of bespoke clinical trial, data sharing, licences, memorandum of understanding, collaboration agreements – review and first draft within 20 working days.

The contracts team is based at the host organisation, Liverpool University Hospital.
