Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital named one of best hospitals for inpatient experience
Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital has once again been named one of the best hospitals in the country, and the best in the North West, for inpatient experience.
This is according to the Care Quality Commission’s 2020 Adult Inpatient Survey, which also recognised LHCH as the TOP trust in Cheshire and Merseyside.
The report summarises the experiences of more than 73,000 patients from 137 NHS trusts who spent at least one night in hospital during November 2020.
Patients were asked for their views on various aspects of their care, with trusts then listed in one of seven categories – from ‘much better than expected’ down to ‘much worse than expected’ – based on the proportion of patients who responded positively compared to the average.
LHCH has been awarded the highest rating by the CQC of ‘much better than expected’ compared to the national average, with an ‘overall experience’ score of 9.07 out of 10.
The hospital scored particularly well for ‘having confidence in doctors and nurses’, ‘being treated with dignity, respect and privacy’, as well as ‘cleanliness’.
