Professor Carrol Gamble appointed NIHR Senior Investigator
Professor Carrol Gamble, Director of the Liverpool Clinical Trials Centre, has been appointed as a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigator in the 2021 round of awards.
NIHR Senior Investigators are among the most prominent and prestigious researchers funded by the NIHR and the most outstanding leaders of patient and people-based research within the NIHR research community.
Professor Gamble is Director of the Liverpool Clinical Trials Centre and a medical statistician with extensive experience in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials. Professor Gamble has particular interests in methodological research around recruitment and retention of clinical trial participants; consent models in emergency care clinical trials; and trials involving children and young people.
“I am delighted and honoured that the NIHR have appointed me as a Senior Investigator in recognition of my contribution to research. I am fortunate to have collaborated with many inspiring people and the NIHR programmes have been vital to the development of clinical trials at Liverpool. I am looking forward to continuing to contribute to the NIHR research community as a member of the NIHR Academy,” said Professor Gamble.
