Professor David Taylor-Robinson to give lecture addressing inequalities in child health
Professor David Taylor-Robinson is to give his inaugural lecture on addressing inequalities in child health.
The Professor of Public Health and Policy at the University of Liverpool (UoL), who works clinically as a consultant in public health at the city’s Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, will speak at the Eleanor Rathbone Theatre at UoL in May.
Poverty drives inequalities between children in the north and their counterparts in the rest of the country, leading to worse physical and mental health outcomes, educational attainment and life chances.
In this lecture, Prof Taylor Robinson will talk about his research on the causes and consequences of child health inequalities and what can be done about them – with a focus on improving lives for children growing up in the north of England.
The lecture will take place on Thursday 26th May at 5.30pm at the Eleanor Rathbone Theatre in Bedford Street South.
Professor Taylor-Robinson was co-lead author of the report The Child of the North which painted a stark picture of inequality for children growing up in the North of England post-pandemic compared to those in the rest of the country.
