Research Capacity

A hub of resources, education and career development opportunities for researchers

Research is the heart of Liverpool Health Partners

Sharing knowledge, information and resources not only benefits the researchers we work with, but also leads to better patient outcomes.

LHP is striving to increase research capacity across the local healthcare system by increasing the number of active researchers, improving their skills and encouraging more collaborative working. Here, you’ll find a range of resources from LHP and our partners to help you with your career development or a particular project. Whether you’re a research support staff member, doctor, nurse or allied health professional, we can point you in the right direction to access what you need.

The Research and Capacity Building Grand Round Webinar saw more than 50 participants learn more about the importance of this area for Cheshire and Merseyside.

Chaired by Dr Cecil Kullu, Associate Medical Director for Research, Development and Innovation at Merseycare NHS Foundation Trust, the session was opened by Prof Gillian Hutcheon, Head of Education and Research Capacity Building for LHP.

Prof Hutcheon told the 50 participants about the plans for the co-creation of an LHP Research Capacity Building (RCB) framework to improve research capability, capacity, inclusivity and culture across the different health and social care disciplines and sectors. She also encouraged others who are interested in building research capability and capacity to contact her with regards to joining the LHP RCB development group.
