The Functions of the Joint Research Office
- Research Grants – The JRO grants team can guide investigators through the process, convening partners and collaborators, ensuring all costs are accurately calculated, approved and submitted.
- Research Sponsorship – The JRO convenes the sponsorship committee to review, approve or decline sponsorship for new studies taking place across our partner organisations.
- Contracts – The JRO provides legal advice and support to our partner organisations for setting up contracts and legal agreements with external investigators, industry and for collaboration across academic and NHS partners.
- Business Intelligence – responsible for our digital first research management approach and performance data, dashboard and analytics. See more below.
The structure brings support from across a multidisciplinary team to work together on finalising contracts, costings, and working with the relevant NHS Departments to confirm capacity and capability to undertaken individual research studies.
